Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use Calari Studio. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service, you confirm that:

• You are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement
• You will comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws

You may use Calari Studio only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent activity
• Upload or generate content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, or violates any third-party rights (including copyright and privacy)
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code or underlying models of the Service
• Interfere with, disrupt, or overburden the Service or its infrastructure
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one
• Use the Service to train competing AI models or products without our express written consent
• Circumvent any access controls, rate limits, or subscription restrictions

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action — including account suspension or termination — for any violation of this section.

Calari Studio is designed to support your learning and creative work, not replace your own thinking.

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of AI-generated content complies with:

• Your school's or institution's academic integrity policies
• Any professional standards that apply to your field

We do not endorse submitting AI-generated work as entirely your own where doing so violates applicable rules. We accept no liability for academic penalties, disciplinary action, or professional consequences resulting from your use of the Service.

Calari Studio uses artificial intelligence to generate text, images, slides, summaries, and other content.

You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for your intended purpose
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing all AI outputs before use
• AI content is not professional advice — it is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, academic, or other expert guidance
• The same or similar outputs may be generated for other users

We make no warranty that AI-generated content will be accurate, original, or fit for any particular purpose.

You own your content. You retain full ownership of all text, files, images, and other materials you create or upload through the Service ("User Content").

By using the Service, you grant Calari a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:

• Store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you
• Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our features (never your identifiable content)

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. We do not sell it.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the rights to all User Content you submit, and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information and keeping it up to date
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account

Notify us immediately at legal@calaristudio.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, appear fraudulent, or are inactive for an extended period.

Some features of Calari Studio require a paid subscription. Billing and payment features are not yet active. When subscriptions are introduced, updated terms covering billing, cancellation, and refunds will be posted and you will be notified before any charges occur.

We will never charge you without your explicit consent to a paid plan.

We may offer a free tier with limited features or usage quotas.

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, reduce, or eliminate free tier limits at any time with reasonable notice
• Pause or throttle access if usage exceeds fair-use thresholds
• Discontinue any feature of the free tier

All software, interfaces, branding, design, trademarks, and underlying technology of Calari Studio are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the platform
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service
• Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written permission

The Service may integrate with or rely on third-party providers (such as AI API providers or authentication services). These providers have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, uninterrupted or error-free operation, and accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Calari Studio and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill — or for academic, professional, or reputational consequences from use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed $50 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Calari Studio and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent or illegal activity, or extended inactivity on free accounts.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, and 15 survive termination.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations. You waive your right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms with a new "Last Updated" date and notify you via email or in-app notice.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
